March 7: When omens appear...

This week was all about omens. Check out this email:
My overly-superstitious grandmother wouldn't go out to lunch today with my mum and aunty because she was devastated her peach tree had been uprooted with the wind, she said that when this happens there will be a death in the family - obviously she's very concerned about her sister who has cancer, and mum's coincidently just called me to say that this aunty has been rushed to hospital today as her liver has failed due to the cancer.
Coincidence, or dark foretelling of events-to-come? Before you decide, consider this curious email, too:
My husband and I stayed at a hotel last night for our anniversary. We were in the pool when something fell from a ledge right near us and it was a bird's wing that had all it's feathers, but you could see the bones where it was attached. We thought it was gross and laughed it off. Then as we were getting into our car at the hotel there was a different bird's wing that again had been severed from a bird's body right next to my passenger door, which freaked us out a bit. But that's not the end of it! When we got home we went for a walk, and lo and behold we came across another severed bird's wing! THEN just now, we were watching a TV show that showed Henry VIII pulling a wing off a dead bird (a swan)! Four severed birds wings in one day!!! WTF? What on earth does it mean??? Help us work it out!
OK, I will, because this is a fascinating one. Here's what I channelled for her:
"Something is holding you back ('clipped wings', 'broken wings' ,'time to fly'). The only thing holding you back is yourself. This is concerning your husband's business. He needs a message loud and clear to literally 'hit him over the head' - and what better than four bloody, graphic broken birds' wings to make him sit up and pay attention? Your husband has a respect for omens, and these are particularly brutal ones because I feel that his main line of business is steering a bit too far in one direction. It's time to pull it back and redirect its/your path. He knows in his heart what's no longer ringing true (I'm getting that it could be connected to one of his main employees or business partners) and he has resisted taking action. He needs to know that by resisting the call to action, he's making things harder for himself. Everything is going to flow much more smoothly and easily once he's dealt with the problem that's dragging on his wing. Free yourself and soar."
So, while that's obviously a personal message concerning somebody's career, what can you, my gorgeous reader, derive from this post and all this talk of omens? Well, here's an interesting point. Both letters came from Greek-Australians. Now, anyone who studied Classics at school knows that Hellenic culture is steeped in superstition. In ancient times, the gods heralded future events by various signs (sacrifices, birds, dreams, and other omens). "He who can understand these signs will be able to adjust his life accordingly and enjoy great prosperity."
Some indigenous cultures, such as the American Indians, also pay great attention to omens (white owls, white buffalos). And modern cultures do, too - black cat crossed your path lately? This is my take on the subject: the things that appear, shift and disappear mysteriously around us are all part of the bigger connected energetic soup we exist in. It's no coincidence that the outside world mirrors your inside world (i.e., what's going on inside you). For me, everything always comes back to interconnectedness and Oneness. Apricot trees, bloody birds' wings and white buffalos included :-)
