Beat the landfill dilemma

Did you know that paper products take up a whopping 40% of the space in landfills? That's why many companies are making the swing back to glass bottles and containers - glass looks elegant, is non-toxic and approved by the FDA, and is, of course, 100% recyclable (either by your local council, or by you rinsing it out and re-using it again). One major US beauty company who claim they've been 'green before green was green' is

Bioelements, who've made smart environmental choices since Day One. "It turns out that we were way ahead of the curve," their company statement claims. "From our recyclable glass jars to earth-friendly ink and paper, Bioelements packaging helps deliver optimum product performance while positively impacting the earth."

Developed in 1991 by Barbara Salomone, one of the first-ever licensed estheticians in the United States, Bioelements is committed to using 100% recyclable glass packaging printed with vegetable/soy-based inks. Recycling glass has less impact on the environment, and conserves natural resources. It saves energy, creates no waste, and lessens greenhouse gasses. It's made from plentiful, naturally occurring minerals like sand and limestone, and is one of the safest packaging materials.
