During her years in the White House from 1981 to 1989, Ronald Reagan's wife Nancy was known (and unfairly ridiculed) for her belief in the paranormal. After the president was shot during an assassination attempt, the First Lady relied on astrological advice in planning the presidential diary, security arrangements and influencing policy. Now a widower (since Ronald's death from Alzheimer's disease in 1994), Nancy has revealed to Vanity Fair magazine that...
she still talks to her husband's spirit and even sees him at night. "It sounds strange but... I see Ronnie," the 87-year-old said, speaking at her home in Bel Air, Los Angeles. "At night, if I wake up, I think Ronnie's there and I start to talk to him. The fact is, I do think he's there. And I see him."
She longs to be reunited with her husband of 52 years in the afterlife. But she never contemplates giving up, she said, because "Ronnie wouldn't like that."
