There's a reason we've coined the term 'Mondayitis'. There's no question that Monday is such a hard, heavy, depressing day of the week to crawl out of bed and drag yourself off to work. Even when I'm on holidays, I still occasionally shudder on a Monday morning; I can literally feel the psychic vibe in the air of a million other despondant office workers, all trudging half-heartedly to their desks. Well, guess what: there's a cosmic reason for this.
Traditionally, Monday is a soft day, symbolising family and fertility... a day when we want to curl up in bed, take things gently, ease into the morning, spend time with loved ones. It's the least condusive day of the week to leave our home-and-hearth and go outside to work -- all your energy literally flows against it! -- so it's ironic that our society has fixed Monday as the first day of the working week.
According to ancient knowledge, you can plan your diary around the different days of the week to harness their different strengths. For example, if you have a really important work meeting to organise, hold it on a Wednesday, the day for communication and business and job-related issues. And the recent trend in America to dub Friday night "date night" -- the most popular night of the week for couples to go dating -- could have its roots in the fact that Friday represents sexuality, fertility, friendship and family life.
Below are the days of week, for your perusal. You can further enhance the various elements of each day, eg. placing a mini cactus on your desk at work for extra assertion against warring colleagues, or wearing an opal on a Monday to assist with your intution. Ask yourself what day of the week YOU were born, and remember: avoid planning your calendar around days that don't mirror your intentions!
