Every man and his dog are labelling products 'organic' these days, including - worryingly - many products which are so far from the true definition of the word, it's an absolute joke. Standards Australia has recently begun working on a new system to help consumers know what they're buying when it comes to ‘organic' products, but we're still not there yet. So when this press release came screaming across my desk today, I sat up and took notice: "TIRED OF THE OTHERS FAKING IT? THEY SAY ORGANIC. WE SAY, PROVE IT!"
Oooh, okay. What's all this about? I wondered. Well, it turns out that "Australia's first true health retreat", Hopewood (a 46-year-old retreat about one hour's drive from Sydney) has joined with Organicspa, "one of Australia's truly Certified Organic ranges". Organicspa is a premium spa range using the healing powers of natural ingredients, with plenty of impressive extras: Vegan Certification (through the UK Vegan Society), 100% naturally-derived ingredients, and a member of CCF (Choose Cruelty Free). Not to mention, of course, the whole really-really-truly organic thingy.
Hopewood has long lured stressed executives to rest, detox, manage their weight, de-stress and book packages designed by naturopaths and osteopaths within its calm confines, and now it's offering to-die-for Organicspa treatments too: Multi-Detox Clay (purifies and rejeuvenates cells for glowing skin) and Age Vita-Renewal (an anti-ageing Vitamin C and E mask for mature, dry skin). Sounds divine. And don't forget, really, really organic.
