August 24: Do you remember your Soul Contract?

Lately I've been speaking to people a lot about their soul contracts. In other words: before you came down to earth, you sat down and did a serious evaluation of where you soul's up to, and where it is going. You thought, 'Well, if I MUST go back down in to the third dimension and deal with all that heavy human drama, I'm going in armed with a constructive check-list of things I plan to achieve, to make it worthwhile'.

Some of your reasons might be karmic (i.e. being born to someone you've got unresolved issues with from a previous life), some lessons for personal growth (you want to experience an abusive childhood to teach you the value of inner strength), and some merely experiences you'd like to have ('Oooh, being a virtuoso flautist might be fun this time!')

After figuring out your Soul Contract, you're born down here on earth. And unless you're super-psychic, ask a super-psychic to tell you, or sit down and think about it long and hard, you're not going to remember what, exactly you decided to do - or why, exactly, you're here. But here's the thing: you don't need to know. Most of the major stuff that happens to you in life (significant people/incidents) were somewhat pre-destined thanks to the choices your Higher Self already made, and they're happening anyway.

So to put it literally, you might have dated a certain guy when you were 23 and gone bankrupt when you were 45 because these were all part of your Soul Contract ('I want to know what sexual freedom feels like, so I'll hook up again with that passionate guy I last knew in medieval Spain, and I'd like to learn forgiveness, so I'll undergo a hard lesson concerning money when I'm old enough to deal with it.')

You might, however, be able to guess at what some of your Soul Contract consist of, simply by checking with your gut feeling. Whenever you make decisions that go against your intuition in life, it's a sure bet you're trying to walk a different path to the one ordained in your Soul Contract... and the sick feeling you get is a reminder that you're wasting time/energy by straying the course! However, never panic that you're locked into ANYTHING in the universe. Contracts can be broken!

When you reach your deathbed (whether your Soul Contract stipulates that you die suddenly aged 27, or you're surrounded with great-grand children aged 101), you'll reflect on your journey. Were you happy with the choices you made? Did you learn what you wanted to learn? Did you react to certain people and events in ways of which you are proud, or ways in which you regret? Your answers to these questions (counselled by fellow angels and spirit guides) will determine whether you draw up another Soul Contract and reincarnate again, or make your way into another corner of the universe for a different Excellent Adventure.
